Following the shocking cancellation of the Central Coast’s 2019 Mountain Sounds festival, two of the event’s international acts are taking the party elsewhere.
Yungblud and Nothing But Thieves have announced their own headlining dates not too far afield from Mount Penang Parklands.
Yungblud will be heading to Newcastle to perform at the uni’s iconic Bar On The Hill this Friday, 15th February with support from local legends Polish Club.
While Nothing But Thieves will be heading down the M1 in the other direction to perform at Sydney Uni’s Manning Bar on the same night.
Tickets to both shows are on sale now and you can catch all the details below.
Meanwhile ICYMI: Mountain Sounds organisers have blamed the event’s cancellation on the NSW Government’s so-called “war on music festivals”, and Polish Club are now echoing those same sentiments.
“The NSW Liberal Government should be held accountable for the blatant, unnecessary damage they continue to do to our industry and many people’s livelihoods,” the group rage in a statement announcing their replacement show with Yungblud.
“It’s important for everyone affected by and empathetic to this misuse of power to speak out and hold those responsible to account. This is a perfect way for us to do so.”
These replacement shows effectively prove the concluding statement in Mountain Sounds’ organisers heartbreaking Facebook post about the fest’s cancellation: “We may have lost the Mountain, but they can’t stop the Sounds”.
It comes after Peking Duk released a scathing statement calling for fans to vote out Gladys Berejiklian and the Liberal party.
