Tash Sultana has shared a cover of Bon Iver‘s For Emma, Forever Ago favourite ‘Flume’. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist uploaded their rendition to YouTube earlier this week. Much like the original, it’s a fairly sparse version that relies largely on acoustic guitar and Sultana’s vocals.
“This is one of my favourite songs of all time by one of my favourite artists of all time,” Sultana captioned the video. “I get found in his music. Should’ve practiced some faces in the mirror first but I guess I was in a trance.”
Sultana is currently gearing up to release their second full-length studio album Terra Firma next month. The follow-up to 2018 debut Flow State is set to arrive Friday, 19th February – Sultana having already previewed the album with singles like ‘Pretty Lady’, ‘Beyond the Pine’ and the Jerome Farah-featuring ‘Willow Tree’.
“I didn’t realise that I needed to create a space and home for myself to feel like a person again,” Sultana explained upon announcing the album’s release date.
“I just went inward and found a really peaceful place and wrote an album, and I feel really happy with it. It’s Aretha Franklin meets Bon Iver meets John Mayer meets whatever.”
