Watch Mark Hoppus Play Bass Guitar For The First Time Since His Cancer Diagnosis

Mark Hoppus has picked up his bass guitar for the first time since his cancer diagnosis. Taking to streaming platform Twitch earlier in the week, he shreds along to Blink-182‘s ‘Not Now’; the lone single from the band’s 2005 compilation, ‘Greatest Hits’.

“Not only is this the first time that I’ve tried to play these songs in well over a year, this is the first time that I’ve felt well enough to play my bass since I was diagnosed,” he said during the stream.

The singer/bassist has been very candid about his battle with cancer. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy, and has been for the last three months.

Last week, he gave an update on his current health status via Twitch, revealing that he has been diagnosed with ‘diffuse large B-cell lymphoma’, and that it is currently at Stage 4-A.

His attitude has remained positive throughout the whole process, saying “…We’re beating this cancer, it’s just a matter of time.”
