Thornhill Unleash Slick New Single ‘TONGUES’ Off Forthcoming Album

Melbourne metalcore favourites Thornhill have just unleashed the final glimpse of their forthcoming third studio album BODIES, in the form of a swaggering new single dubbed ‘TONGUES’ (listen below).

“‘TONGUES’ explores the tension of being pulled between opposing forces — desire and resistance, surrender and defiance,” the band explains in a statement about the track.

Thornhill – ‘TONGUES’

“In many ways, it reflects our own relationship with heavy music, the push and pull between being consumed by it or resisting its grip,” they continue. “The song’s atmosphere feels like an ongoing battle, shifting between aggression and restraint. Lines like ‘turning your tongue in two’ and ‘fingernails down the walls’ heighten this conflict, evoking the struggle to commit or break free.”

‘TONGUES’ follows previous album singles ‘Obsession’, ‘nerv’ and ‘Silver Swarm’.

Thorny fans on the East Coast will also score a unique opportunity to experience BODIES before its release in a live and intimate setting, with a trio of preview shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney this March. The Melbourne date has already sold out, while the Brisbane and Sydney shows are selling fast.

Thornhill will be supported by Adelaide metalcore quartet Signals and Melbourne metalcore upstarts Melting at all three shows.
