Divisive Sydney band Sticky Fingers have announced plans to release a new album “later this year”, after their frontman Dylan Frost was told to leave a Sydney pub last week following a verbal altercation.
Taking to Twitter overnight, Sticky Fingers revealed their album plans just days after Frost was removed from Newtown’s Kelly’s On King on Thursday night, following an argument with transgender model and writer Alexandra V. Tanygina.
The Australian reports that Tanygina claims Frost called her a “floozy”, a “bitch” and said he hated transgender feminists, that he couldn’t be sexist because his mother was a feminist and that he couldn’t be racist because he is Maori.
A spokeswoman for Sticky Fingers said a Kelly’s staff member intervened after Tanygina approached Frost and called him a “racist”.
“Dylan said it was bullshit and to leave him alone,” she said.
“She continued to harass him, and her friend then joined in and threatened him and Dylan told him to fuck off. The manager noticed there was tension and asked them to leave, which Dylan did.”
News of Sticky Fingers’ plans to release a new album in 2018 come after they removed the words “to all the haters, we are better than you” from an Instagram post they made in the days following The Australian‘s story.

Overnight, the band also responded to criticism from music journalist and radio host Paul Brown (who took issue with the edited Instagram post) by telling him, “How bout fuck you.”

Last month, Dylan Frost released what he said will be his “last” statement in response to allegations of racism and violence which have been made against him. The statement came after the band was criticised for comments made during their first interview following a 12-month hiatus.
Sticky Fingers are scheduled to begin a world tour next month, with a one-off Australian show in Sydney. The group released their latest album Westway (The Glitter & the Slums) in 2016.
