Lorde Is Stoic In Music Video For ‘Solar Power’ Ballad ‘Fallen Fruit’

Lorde walks through shrubbery and sand, from day to night, past fire and water in the music video for the bluesy Solar Power ballad, ‘Fallen Fruit’.

‘Fallen Fruit’ is the third Solar Power track to be given the official music video treatment. The video for the album’s title track depicts Lorde fancy free, running around the beach, joined by a choir of women vocalists. At one point, she takes a hit from a fennel bulb bong.

For the album’s second video, ‘Mood Ring‘, Lorde donned a head of blonde-hair while she and a quintet of women played with stones, crystals and mushrooms. Like the previous two videos, Lorde co-directed ‘Fallen Fruit’ with Kiwi filmmaker Joel Kefali.

Solar Power came out Friday, 20th August and debuted at #1 in the ARIA charts. It peaked at #2 in the UK and #5 in the US. Lorde will bring her Solar Power tour to Australia in March 2022, with shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.

In September, Lorde released the Māori language EP, Te Ao Mārama, featuring guest appearances from fellow Aotearoa artists, Bic Runga and Marlon Williams. The EP is intended as a companion piece to Solar Power and is made up of five Solar Power tracks sung in te reo Māori.
