Jaguar Jonze has shared ‘Little Fires’, the song the Brisbane artist hopes to perform at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Australia will be back in the ring at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest, which takes place in Turin, Italy in May. The Australian representative will be decided on Saturday, 26th February through SBS’s Eurovision – Australia Decides special. Eleven acts will battle it out, with the winner determined based on public votes (50%) and feedback from a five-member panel of judges (50%).
‘Little Fires’ is a rock-influenced pop song written especially for Eurovision. “Little Fires is a reminder about where we’ve come from, what we are fighting for, and what we can achieve when we work together,” said Jonze. “And it’s a reminder that we are not alone.”
Jaguar Jonze’s Deena Lynch co-wrote ‘Little Fires’ with Louis Schoorl (Kesha, Benjamin Ingrosso) and PJ Harding. Lynch co-produced alongside Aidan Hogg and Joseph Fallon. The Black Square Quartet added strings.
Jonze has a reputation for making excellent music videos, which tends to direct herself. A video for ‘Little Fires’ is expected in the lead-up to Eurovision – Australia Decides performance.
Jonze will go up against the likes of Andrew Lambrou, Charley, G-Nat!on, Isaiah Firebrace and Evie Irie, Jude York, Paulini, Seann Miley Moore, Sheldon Riley and Voyager in Australia Decides. Listen to ‘Little Fires’ below.
