Blusher Share “Euphoric” New Single ‘Racer’

Blusher have shared their first new music of 2025: A stand-alone single entitled ‘Racer’. The Melbourne-based pop trio co-wrote and co-produced the track with Gab Strum, AKA Japanese Wallpaper, alongside LA-based songwriter Tyler Spry. In a press statement, the group explained that the track was directly inspired by “a secret rave in downtown LA”.

“We danced under a bridge and watched as people lit off fireworks from its highest point,” they wrote. “The next day, sleep deprived and inspired, we bottled that feeling of euphoria – and ‘Racer’ was born.” The song’s title stems from a persona Blusher invented, which they focused in its lyrics and musical energy. “Being a ‘Racer’ means being your own stunt person; the main character of your own life,” they said. “It’s being the person to start the dancefloor, while the rest of the party is worrying about what people think.”

The group originally premiered ‘Racer’ in the live arena back in January, where they played it during their support slots for Sugababes during their east-coast Australian run. It follows on from their productive 2024, which saw the release of five singles: ‘Somebody New’, ‘Overglow’, ’24 Hours In Paris’, ‘Accelerator’ and ‘Rave Angel’.
