Bluesfest has performed an Olympic-level backflip following the success of its 2025 event over the Easter long weekend, which was originally billed as the Byron Bay bash’s final ever instalment. Director and promoter Peter Noble has now confirmed that Bluesfest will indeed return in 2026.
“We’ve had the highest attendance of any Australian festival since pre-COVID at 109,000 attendances – the third-biggest event we’ve done in the history of the festival…. festivals are back,” Noble said in a press statement following the weekend’s event. “We’re the top-selling festival in the country, and we’ve worked hard to get here.”
“People want it to continue”
Noble said the decision to rescind the festival’s farewell was due to the overwhelming support from both artists and fans.
“That support means Bluesfest fans have kept this dream alive,” he continued. “It’s a clarion call for me. People want this event. People want it to continue.”
Bluesfest 2025 hosted performances from international icons such as Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, American soul/rnb/pop veteran Chaka Khan and American yacht-rock acts Toto, plus Crowded House, Ocean Alley, Tones and I, Hilltop Hoods, Kasey Chambers and loads more.
Bluesfest 2026 will take place over next year’s Easter long weekend, running from Thursday, 2nd April to Sunday, 5th April 2026, with lineup announcements to follow soon. Early bird tickets are on sale now.
