Beloved Sydney Venue Frankie’s Pizza To Be Demolished For A New Sydney Station

Late-night pizza joint and beloved music venue, Frankie’s Pizza By The Slice will be demolished to make way for a new Sydney Metro line.

The NSW State Government announced last week that a new Metro West line would be built. It’ll run from the CBD to Westmead, with one of the stations to go on Hunter Street in the CBD.

The development will see the demolition of Frankie’s Pizza. However, Transport Minister Andrew Constance told the Sydney Morning Herald that the venue would be looked after.

“Frankie’s is an important part of Sydney’s live music scene and we will make sure it is properly supported during this challenging time,” he told the publication. “Sydney Metro is assigning Frankie’s a dedicated acquisition manager to guide them through this process and to help find another location.”

The venue is yet to share an official statement on the news.

“Business as usual this evening mates,” they wrote. “A big huge Sabbath Sessions of six acts and bottomless memories to be made. Appreciating the flood of goodwill pouring in people. Rock and Roll.”

The $27 billion project will kick off at the end of 2022.
