Battlesnake Announce ‘The Year Of The Snake’ Homecoming 2025 Tour

Battlensnake have announced a new run of Australian shows, including a trio of east-coast headliners and two upcoming festival appearances. In addition to playing their own shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, the comedic Melbourne metal band will also play at the Blacken Open Air festival in Darwin and the Chopped motorcycle festival in the regional Victorian town of Carisbrook.

The newly-announced shows come as part of the band’s ongoing world tour dubbed The Year Of The Snake – so named for not only the pun on the band’s name, but for the fact that 2025 is the Year Of The Snake in the Chinese Zodiac. The tour is in support of the band’s third studio album, Dawn Of The Exultants And The Hunt For The Shepherd. Released last month on Friday, June 6th, the album debuted at number eight on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart – marking the band’s first top-ten.

Battlesnake – ‘Murder Machine’

Last month saw the band head to Europe to tour the summer festival circuit. They performed at Download Festival, Copenhell, Rock For People and Pinkpop. The band also undertook a tour of the continent in support of Eagles Of Death Metal. On the Blacken Open Air line-up, Battlesnake will be joined by Earthless (as part of their own national tour), Frenzal Rhomb (as part of their “regional-ish” tour), former Kyuss drummer Brant Bjork, Terminal Sleep and a reunited Blood Duster.

The Chopped Festival line-up, meanwhile, is yet to be announced in full. Only Battlesnake, Civic and Private Function have been confirmed on the line-up thus far, with over 20 bands expected to be added in total. Last year’s line-up featured the Cosmic Psychos, Dr. Sure’s Unusual Practice, A. Swayze & The Ghosts, Delivery and Music Feedsrecently-premiered Arabella And The Heist.
