Currently in the middle of their biggest headline Australian tour thus far, British indie heroes Arctic Monkeys stopped by triple j studios to play a stripped back cover version of psych-rockers Tame Impala‘s Lonerism hit Feels Like We Only Go Backwards.
After a quick display of their tech savvy, saying say bassist Nick O’Malley’s name backwards into a phone app and then reversing it, in his signature Sheffield crooning styles, frontman Alex Turner transforms the kaleidoscopic tune into a swooning acoustic version.
Arctic Monkey’s are currently being supported on their tour around the country by Tame Impala’s sister band Pond. They’re set to play Melbourne tonight, followed by Adelaide and Perth before continuing their world tour in support of latest album, the critically acclaimed smash hit AM.
