Things are pretty weird and scary right now, but at least we can count on artists releasing some topical bops while we’re all stuck in isolation from one another. Over the weekend, for instance, we heard a new track about quarantine from Bad Bunny called ‘En Casita’.
In today’s case, we’ve been blessed with some more Tiger King-related content, as Aussie producer and DJ Alison Wonderland and Los Angeles artist Phem have shared a new, collaborative song inspired by the big cat docu-series.
The punchy new track is titled ‘WWCBD?’ – What Would Carole Baskin Do – and sees Phem singing over a repeated guitar line before a big bassy outro.
As you may have guessed, the track’s title and lyrics nods to the (unconfirmed) theory propagated by some of the show’s subjects, that animal rights activist Carole Baskin fed her late husband to tigers, spawning a smorgasbord of internet memes following the show’s release. “What would Carole Baskin do? / She would probably murder you / Feed you to the tigers,” goes the eerie chorus.
Earlier today, we learned that a new episode of the insanely popular (and extremely unhinged) series about zoo owner Joe Exotic and the exotic animal trade would be coming to Netflix sometime in the next week, as confirmed by the show’s Jeff Lowe.
