Frenzal Rhomb Announce 2025 “Regional-ish” Tour

Frenzal Rhomb have announced a continuation of their 2024 anniversary tour commemorating 25 years of their fourth studio album, A Man’s Not A Camel. The extensive tour will run from early May with dates through early October, and primarily takes in regional centres across Australia. As such, the tour has been billed the A Man’s (Still) Not A Camel 25th-ish Anniversary Regional-ish tour. The full list of tour dates, as well as ticketing information, can be found below.

The Australian punk veterans announced the tour via a fake press release from the FRPP – AKA the “Frenzal Rhomb Political Party” – making “a pledge” to do the tour as a political promise. “No, Frenzal Rhomb cannot balance the budget,” they wrote. “Nor can we solve Australia’s housing crisis. We can’t even produce green carbon to get us to net zero – but, then again, no one can. But, we can bring A Man’s Not A Camel to the beer-soaked stages of regional Australia. And you can trust us, we’re the ones who told you that interesting historical fact about dinosaurs in song. Also, it can’t be pork-barreling; none of us eat meat.”

Frenzal Rhomb – ‘You Are Not My Friend’

A Man’s Not a Camel was originally released in March of 1999 locally, before being released internationally that June. It features the band’s signature song ‘Never Had So Much Fun’, as well as ‘You Are Not My Friend’ and ‘We’re Going Out Tonight’ – which came in at number 26, 34 and 64 respectively in the 1999 triple j Hottest 100. It also marked the debut appearance of longtime drummer Gordy Foreman, replacing Nat Nykyruj, who has played on every Frenzal album since.

The album peaked on the charts at number 11, which would remain the band’s highest-ever ARIA Chart position for nearly two decades. It was ultimately beaten by 2017’s Hi-Vis High Tea, which peaked at number nine. It is also one of three Frenzal Rhomb albums to be certified Gold.
